Given that the critical growth and differentiation factors have to be presented to cells in a specific way, we develop new technologies to generate biodegradable matrices, scaffolds and microcarriers that bind pharmacologically active proteins and allow their delivery in a controlled way. This new material maintains cultured cells in differing proliferative and differentiated states and organize cells into tissues. Implanted in combination with cells, it optimizes the engraftment in the target organ. Finally, it simplifies the culture scaling- up required for clinical purposes.
