We obtain for MSC's as a whole and for major subsets a complete gene product repertoire that provide us with the molecules and pathways potentially operative for the maintenance and differentiation of the stem cells. Forsome novel molecules that appear, on a theoretical basis, essential forthe above, we demonstrate the relevance of the corresponding proteins in gain and loss of function studies.
